South America Travels Online is the work of 3 partners who, based on their extensive experience in tourism, decided that some things about tourism can and should be changed in order to get a better all round experience for both the visitor as the host.

Having travelled and worked in almost all South American countries we came to the conclusion that the tourist industry is overflowing with large companies, all offering cheaper and more exhilarating tours than the other but in the end often turn out to be a disappointment. In our eyes this is for a large part due to the fact that many of these tours are not more than a bus of too many people with uninteresting guides and an overall “let’s get this group out and the next one in” kind of mentality.

We at South America Travels Online are dedicated to steer away from this idea and offer online completely customizable package trips to South America for people who want to experience the continent and its people with a personalized service and attention. This service we do not only provide during the trip but in the whole process. Personal Elaborated Itineraries;We at South America Travels Online offer complete and customized packages for your vacation to South America. This means that almost all services and hotels can be changed and chosen adequately to your vacation preferences. All hotel reservations will be made on your name and we can provide you with a large number of hotel options suited for different motives and price classes. We offer hotels within the 3* range all the way to the most luxurious 5* hotels to be found in South America. Of course you can also opt for a range of hotels depending on where you are staying. In case you would have a special occasion or something to celebrate you can choose to stay for one or several nights in some of the great luxury hotels we can offer you. Please ask our travel agents for more advice and recommendations.

All airport transfers in our travels are personal. You will always be picked up with your group and will not have to wait for other people to arrive. Our professional drivers will be waiting for you punctually on the time of arrival with a clear sign with your name on.

Our daily excursion we can offer you in shared or in private service. In shared service you would be spending the day and the excursion with approximately 6-12 other passengers. In case you would opt for private tours you will have a private professional guide and driver for you and your partner(s). This of course will provide you with more flexibility in the time you would spend on each site you will visit. A smaller group also gives you the chance to go even more in depth in the information provided. In case you would be traveling with more people, keep in mind that from 4 passengers on the price difference between shared and private tours is minimal and therefore more than worth considering.

About the SATO TeamVanessa is our “Peruvian Connection”. Born and raised in Cusco Peru, she studied Tourism both in Peru and abroad and is more than familiar with the tourist industry in Peru and beyond. Her years of experience in the hotel industry makes her an expert in what a good hotel should look like and this is the kind of inside information that our clients appreciate. She is our personal contact with all hotels and operators and an important resource when it comes to the details of your trip. And we all know that quality often is found in the details.

Stephen was born and raised in Ireland, Stephen is our in-house IT specialist and web-designer. He has lived and worked in several South American countries where he was in charge of elaborating multiple tourism websites and initiatives for a range of international companies. Nowadays he decided call Cusco home and to put his years of experience in web design & South American tourism to use for the SATO Travels website family.

Seppe is the true in-house expert of the company when it comes to travelling in South America. Originally born in Belgium he has wandered most South American countries for years either work or pleasure. He has lived for over 5 years in Peru, both in Lima where he studied and in Cusco which he decided to call home 4 years ago. Having studied international business in Amsterdam and Lima, he after his studies focused on tourism as his main interest and does so until the day of today. He is the company Sales Director and in charge of making sure that our clients receive the personal attention we feel is necessary to provide in the tourism industry. He speaks fluent English, Spanish and Dutch so feel free to write him in any of these languages.   

 

We SATO Travels SAC offer our clients the following payment options; 

Bank Transfer; 

Interbank wire transfers are easy and relatively fast. Most banks nowadays provide an internet banking system meaning that you are able to make instant wire transfers with just an internet connection. On average we should be able to confirm all (international) wire transfers within 24-72 hours. 

 

SATO Travels SAC can offer you the following bank accounts for transfers; 

  • Skrill (Moneybookers)  International Bank Transfer
  • BCP (Banco de Credito Peru), Cusco, Peru

Credit Card Payment through Skrill (formerly MoneyBookers); 

We accept payments of all major credit cards through the Skrill (formerly MoneyBookers) secure website portal. The initial payment can be made just following the steps on our credit card payment page. After the initial payment you can open an account with Skrill and get this verified for the future (balance or deposit) payments. Verification can be done through your own Skrill account and takes about 48 hours. This system assures us, as well as our clients, that personal and credit card data is secured (not visible to third parties) and that all payments will be processed as requested. Nevertheless the system does impose some additional charges which we unfortunately have to charge to our clients making the package price somewhat higher for credit card payments. 

 

Western Union Money Transfer

Finally we can offer you the international Money Transfer services of Western Union. Please keep in mind that from the USA this can take up to one day to clear.

You may be able to make your payment online or by telephone, or you will need to visit a Western Union office. Payments can be made using a VISA or MASTERCARD (credit or debit) for online or phone payments, as well as via cash at a Western Union office. You will need to state the name of the person that will receive the transfer (please ask your SATO travel consultant) and the city (Cusco, Peru) where the collection will be made. You will then receive a MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number) which we require in order to collect the payment. 

 

After payment has been made, please inform us of the payment and if possible send us a copy of the payment receipt (bank transfer or Western Union) so we can proceed with the reservations as soon as possible. In Case you would pay via Skrill, we will get notified almost instantaneously. As soon as we have received confirmation of the transfer we will send you a receipt of payment to your email address.

1. Contact us;
You can contact us by filling out the form on the top left hand side of our website. Fill out the form with your name, email and phone number if you would prefer to speak to one of our travel representatives. In the comment box you can leave behind any important information for your trip.


2. Travel Representatives;
On receiving your inquiry, one of our personal travel representatives will be assigned to you and this person will get back to you with some more questions regarding the trip you are looking for. In case the travel representative has all the information he or she will create a proposed itinerary for you based on the information at hand.


3. Completely Customizable packages;
All our tours are tailor made and therefore almost completely customizable. Therefore once you have received your proposed itinerary, please have a look through this and for any changes, questions or doubts you can get back to your personal travel representative.


4. The right package;
Once you have found the right package and are happy with the tours, hotels and other services, you can go ahead with the actual booking process. In order for us to start making the bookings and reservations we would need


1. The complete passport information for all passengers
2. Your international flight details (if available and not booked through us)
3. A deposit payment


Your travel representative will send you the right documents to fill this information out. He or she will also provide you with the necessary payment options and instructions for each option.


5. Bookings and reservations;
Once we have received the above information and deposit payment we will send you a receipt as proof of payment and start making all reservations and bookings. These we will have in place (depending on the complexity of the itinerary) in about 5-8 working days. Once all services, flights and hotels have been confirmed we will send you the confirmed itinerary.

6. Final payment;
The final balance payment for your trip is due at 60 days before departure. On receiving the final payment we will send you a receipt for this payment.
In case you would be booking your trip within the 60 days limit your travel representative will provide you with another deposit and balance payment proposal.


7. Final documents;
About two weeks before departure you will be send your Final Travel Document. This document includes all the final details for your upcoming trip such as; pickup times, flight times and bookings, hotel details and off course our 24 hours emergency numbers whilst traveling with us.


8. After travel document;
Once you have returned from your vacation, we will send you a feedback form where you are asked a couple of questions. Of course this is absolutely voluntary to fill out and send back to us. We do appreciate all feedback in order to keep improving our services and operations.

Peru Travels Online is part of the SATO Travels SAC company and website family. Peru Travels Online, as part of SATO Travels SAC (R.U.C. number 20490646320) is bounded by the following terms and conditions;


We at SATO Travels S.A.C (Peru) aim to provide all our clients with a great service and a memorable experience. We will do everything we can to ensure that this is carried out to the your highest expectations. Following are the terms and conditions that will apply to your booking, please read these carefully, as on booking your trip you will bound by them. These Terms shall constitute the entire agreement between the company know as SATO Travels SAC and the client relating to the subject matter heir in, and shall constitute a binding agreement between SATO Travels SAC and the client and any passengers involved in the agreement. There is no verbal or written representation, warranty, prior agreement or description of services, other than as expressed herein.

The quote that will be given by us will be valid for no longer than 14 days from the date of the final quote delivery. The 14 day time restriction is due to prices of trains and other services such as hotels that can change availability at short notice and excludes international and domestic flights quotes. International and domestic flight quote validity is limited in time by the restrictions that are imposed on us by the airline or airline operator.

The client includes yourself and all those named on the booking including minors and persons under a disability of which all will be bound by the terms and conditions stated herein.
Please note that our prices are only for services within South America and do not include international airport taxes and any meals or services not included in your itinerary including personal expenses, personal insurance, tips and baggage porterage.

Please note that all payments are subject to exchange rate fluctuations which will be communicated to you at the moment of payment.

Deposit payment and Balance Payment

SATO Travels SAC. will start making all the bookings and payments once the complete deposit payment has been received. The largest part of the deposit payment will be used to make the instantaneous payments to be made such as airline tickets, train tickets and entrance fees. These costs are in most cases nonrefundable or non-transferrable meaning that the deposit payment is also nonrefundable. In exceptional cases (severe illness, hand of god, etc…) SATO Travels SAC. management will study each case to see if an exception can be made.

The full balance payment for the services booked with SATO Travels SAC. Is due at 60 days before departure or if the departure date would be closer than 60 days on confirmation of the itinerary. In the case of non-payment of the balance by the due date, SATO Travels SAC. reserves the right to cancel your booking and cancellation charges will apply.

Changes to your Booking

An administration fee of $50 (or equivalent) per person will be charged if a confirmed booking is changed or transferred to a different departure date or tour, up to 60 days prior to departure where such a change is possible / permitted. Thereafter all changes will be treated as cancellations and subject to charges as below. (see Cancellation by you).

If a client is unable to travel, in circumstances which SATO Travels SAC. consider reasonable, then we will attempt to transfer the booking to another suitable person, however the tour arrangements must remain the same and if all suppliers (including airlines) agree to accept the name change without penalty. SATO Travels SAC. may not be able to transfer bookings in this way as each individual situation will carry with it different penalties and restrictions. If a transfer is allowed then an administration charge of $50 (or equivalent) per person will be made if the company is notified up to 60 days before departure plus any extra charges and / or penalties levied by our suppliers, thereafter all changes will be treated as cancellations and subject to charges as shown below.

Cancellation by You

Should the client wish to cancel the tour or any part of the tour (excursions, flights, hotel, accommodations, etc…) cancellation charges will be imposed. These are calculated from the day written notification is received by SATO Travels SAC.

The charges are shown below:

60 and more days before departure: retention of deposit. (In addition 100% of fully non-fundable items such as flights and / or service pre-payments will be retained).

59 to 30 days before departure: 75% of total price. (In addition 100% of fully non-fundable items such as flights and / or Galapagos pre-payments will be retained).

Less than 30 days before departure: 100% of tour cost.

Saying this we are always willing to try and help you and if possible we can try to be more flexible on the above policy if the situation, our suppliers and service agents permit it.We strongly recommend that full travel insurance is taken, which includes cover, under certain circumstances, against the loss of deposit or cancellation charges. Please note that no reimbursements are given when cancellations occur or for any unused services.

Flight Cancellation Policy:

Flight Bookings are totally non refundable or transferable
Special Cancellation Conditions: Certain accommodation and tour products will apply additional cancellation charges. If applicable you will be informed in your quote.

Amendment Fees:
Any amendments made to a confirmed booking will incur a fee, bookings of a value up to $1,000 a fee of $25, bookings of a value over $1,000 a fee of $50. The fees are charged per amendment. This is in addition to any fees that may be levied by the supplier or airline.

Late Booking Fees:
A late booking fee of $50.00 can be charged if booking is made within 72 hours prior to departure. This depends on the amount of administration work involved, and if applicable, you will be notified at time of booking.

Change Of Itinerary After Holiday Has Commenced:
Any alteration or cancellation of services after your holiday has commenced can incur penalties. There is no refund for unused services.
Refunds: All refund requests must be in writing specifying the reason for the refund in detail and made direct to SATO Travels SAC. Claims must be made within 10 days from the final date of your trip. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather, illness or other acts of god. These may be claimed through your travel insurance. A $50 processing fee applies to all approved refunds. No refunds will be made for services once travel arrangements have commenced. No guarantee is provided or warranted that any refund will be available.

Reporting of Incidents: Any abnormal incidents including injuries, service problems, cancellation of a service or dissatisfaction must be reported to SATO Travels SAC during the event to allow us an opportunity to rectify the situation or provide assistance. If the client has a dispute with SATO Travels SAC which we are unable to resolve then please write to us within 10 days from the final date of your trip and we will investigate further.

Validity of Rates:
Prices are valid for the dates indicated in the specific itinerary.

Currency:
All prices are quoted in American Dollars unless otherwise indicated in the quote.

Children's Rates:
Child rates may be available depending on the service involved, if there is children travelling SATO Travels SAC need to be notified before booking.

Travel Insurance:
Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all clients whilst on a tour with SATO Travels SAC. Clients are responsible for ensuring that they have adequate cover for the full duration of the tour in respect of medical expenses, injury, death, repatriation, cancellation and curtailment. It is not our responsibility to check the validity and cover of your insurance policy.

Accommodation:
Depending on availability we will try to book the original accommodation as specified in the last proposed itinerary agreed to. In case we cannot provide you with availability for these accommodations we will provide you with accommodations of the same rate, price class and standard as the original accommodations. All rates are subject to change without notice. Not all properties provide instant availability and in these cases SATO Travels SAC checks availability once we receive the booking request. We can not guarantee the room types requested until the confirmation of accommodations.

Flights:
The validity of airfare quotes will be communicated on the time of delivery of the airfare quote. The validity of the quote depends on the route, the number of passengers and the overall availability for these airfares. No airfares will be booked without deposit payment for the trip.International and domestic flights are completely non refundable or transferable.
Check In / Check Out Times: These vary according to hotels. Please keep in mind that in general check in and check out times can change without prior notice. Please note that most properties may need to see photo identification such as a passport.

Clients Responsibility
Clients agree to accept the authority and decisions of SATO Travels SAC employees, tour leaders, guides and agents whilst on tour as we only have your best interests and safety in mind. If in the opinion of such persons the health or conduct of a client at any time before or after departure appears likely to endanger the safety, comfort or happy progress of a tour, then the client may be excluded from all or part of the tour.

In the case of ill health, SATO Travels SAC may make arrangements, as it seems fit and recover the costs there of from the client. If a client commits an illegal act, he/she may be excluded from the tour and SATO Travels SAC shall cease to have responsibility to / for them. If you are affected by a condition, medical or otherwise, that might affect other peoples' enjoyment or active participation of the tour, you must advise us at the time of booking. No refund will be given for any unused services.

With the somewhat volatile nature of politics in Latin America, our clients should always keep abreast of changes in immigration laws and paperwork requirements as these can change at very short notice. Please contact the relevant authorities when booking and again before traveling to be sure. This is your responsibility, regardless of any advice we may give you in good faith.

Hotel, service or any other cancellations due to strikes, political turmoil and other "acts of god" cannot be refunded. If possible SATO Travels SAC will try to alter your itinerary or services accordingly.

All travelers need to carry a valid passport, with the correct minimum validity and any visas that are required by individual countries that you are visiting. Please check carefully for each destination and / or stopovers and / or connections. If your flight transits the USA you should check that your passport meets current US Customs requirements, including those covered under the Visa Waiver Scheme. All passport and visa matters are ultimately the clients responsibility.

Copies of your passport data/photo page are required on booking. These are required by many Latin American authorities in order to allow us to make flight, cruise and other reservations in addition to tax reasons. SATO Travels SAC cannot be held responsible for any bookings made with incorrect passport information if not supplied with a clear copy at time of booking.

Depending upon your route to and within Latin America, you may require an International Yellow Fever certificate valid for 10 years. We strongly advise to visit your doctor or travel clinic before traveling to discuss any vaccinations required and any issues related to altitude or climate.
In certain countries you are required to carry identification with you at all times in your luggage or day sack.

INCLUSIONS AND EXCLUSIONS
What is excluded and included is defined in the Financial Details Sheet that you can find on the end of the itinerary. Here you can find a list of the items included and excluded in the specific quote. These inclusion and exclusion specifications do only apply to the itinerary the Financial Detail Sheet is attached to.

Copyright on all descriptive text is held by SATO Travels SAC. Copyright on selected photographic images is also held by SATO Travels SAC or unless otherwise specified.Photographic images are reproduced with the permission of SATO Travels SAC and the product and/or service providers represented on the web site, or as shown where necessary to satisfy the copyright obligations associated with their electronic reproduction.

Where joint copyright is held over proprietary text or images, SATO Travels SAC reserves the right to pursue all copyright infringements on behalf of the primary copyright holder. As you may have seen on different parts of our website, all our packages are customizable. But what does it mean that our packages are customizable?

The fact that our packages are customizable means that we can adjust almost any part of the package to your preferences. We do not organize group trips and all our packages (no matter the number of passengers) are designed personally. This starts with the dates of your trip. We can start any trip on the date you prefer and end on the date you want.

Furthermore with our itineraries you can choose between shared and private tours and even combine the two as there may be sites that interest you more than others. The same goes for hotels, we can make you an itinerary of purely 5* or purely 3* hotels but we can also combine these in order to get a somewhat more economical trip but still enjoy a “splash” of luxury in one or several destinations.

Finally, all our Travel Representatives are professionals who take pride in providing you with good and trustworthy information regarding hotels, tours and other services. He or she will clearly communicate with you whether a certain hotel is worth the extra money or if a shared tour or private tour may be more adequate for you.  Therefore, if you are looking for a trip to South America and may have some special requests, do not hesitate to contact us and our Travel Representatives will get in touch and go over your preferences and requirements for this trip. 

We are aware that people travel with different budgets and have different priorities when travelling. This means that some people do not care too much about the hotels, meanwhile other people do want to enjoy the luxury of a nice 5* hotel when on holiday. Then again some prefer to have private tours for all excursions in order to have more question time and flexibility, meanwhile others do not mind being in a group and get to know some other travellers. These different priorities that people may have made us decide to put up prices for three different types of travel on our example itineraries.
 
The standard packages are packages making use of all good quality 3* hotels, all shared tours and transfers and the standard level of trains. The superior packages use all prime 4* hotels, a combination of shared and private tours and all private transfers. The train type used is also a Superior train. The luxury packages are packages with all overnights in the top 5* hotels in South America, for example all private tours and transfers use the luxury Hiram Bingham for the trip to Machu Picchu.
