This trip is for adventurous people, not afraid of altitude and looking to combine the most awe-inspiring sites of the Andes in a 2 week journey. Combine great archeological discoveries with some of the continent’s most bizarre landscapes connected through the colorful Andean Cultures of Peru and Bolivia.
DAY 1 - Lima
On arrival in Lima you will be met at the airport by our representative and taken in private transport to your hotel. Your hotel will be located in Miraflores, close to restaurants and bars. The rest of the afternoon or evening you will have some free time to unwind after your flight or maybe even do some initial discovering of this massive city.
DAY 2 - Lima
Today you will be picked up from your hotel for a half day city tour of Lima. You will visit the historic center with its colonial buildings and impressive plazas. Discover the Plaza San Martin and the Plaza de Armas with its Cathedral and Presidential Palace. Form here you will set course for San Isidro and Miraflores. You will visit parquet Los Olivos and the seaside neighborhood of Miralfores. From here you will be taken back to your hotel. The rest of the day you have the chance to visit some of the great Lima museums or sneak in a bit of shopping.
DAY 3 - Lima – Cusco
In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the Lima airport for your flight to Cusco. On arrival in Cusco you will be met at the airport and taken to your hotel in the city centre. Later today you will be picked up for a Cusco city tour. You will not only visit the Cusco city centre with its historic buildings but also the amazing Inca sites such as Sacsayhuaman located just outside the city.
DAY 4 - Cusco – Sacred Valley
In the morning will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will start with a visit to Pisac market, without doubt one of the best artisan markets in South America. From here we will set course for Ollantaytambo, a small village located at the foot of some impressive ruins and more or less the gateway to Machu Picchu. At the end of the day you can either stay the night in the Sacred Valley or go back to Cusco to spend the night.
DAY 5 - Machu Picchu
In the early morning you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley and taken to the train station in Poroy or Ollantaytambo station for your train to Machu Picchu. On arrival in Aguas Calientes you will be taken to your hotel to drop off your luggage before taking the bus to the magical site of Machu Picchu itself. You will have a guided tour after which you will have some free time to discover this amazing site.
DAY 6 - Machu Picchu – Cusco
It is best to start this day early in order to catch the sun rise at Machu Picchu weather permitting. You will have the entire day at the site, an ideal day to climb Huayna or Machu Picchu Mountain. In the afternoon you will return to Cusco via train. Transport back to your hotel is provided.
DAY 7 - Cusco – Puno
Your journey to the city of Puno, located on the shores of Lake Titicaca will begin early with a pick up at your hotel. There are several ways to make this trip, you can choose to fly, hop on either a VIP bus or a Luxurious Andean Eplorer train.The VIP bus option includes several interesting stops along the way.
DAY 8 - Puno – Copacabana – Isla del Sol
Today you will be picked up from Puno and drive besides the lake till you get to the Bolivian border. After crossing the border you will continue to the small town of Copacabana. Here you will embark your boat to the Isla del Sol, where you will have a short guided tour and spend the night.
DAY 9 - Isla del Sol – Copacabana – La Paz
In the morning you will embark your boat back to Copacabana where you will enjoy a short visit to the typical Basilica of the town. After this we will continue to La Paz where you will be taken to your hotel.
DAY 10 - La Paz and the Valley of the Moon
Today you will be picked up from your hotel for a half day tour of the impressive city of La Paz and the awkward Valley of the Moon, located close to the city.
DAY 11 - La Paz - Potosi – Uyuni
You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the terminal for a bus to Potosi. On arrival in Potosi you can embark the Expreso del Sur Train to Uyuni and the famous salt plains where you will arrive in the early morning.
DAY 12 - Uyuni Salt Plains
Today you will visit one of the natural wonders of South America; the Uyuni Salt Plains. These are the largest Salt Plains on the planet and make for a spectacular sight. You will visit some of the strange islands with large cactuses on these plains and enjoy the amazing views of this plain. From here we will return to Uyuni where you will visit the train cemetery before being taken to your hotel for the night.
DAY 13 - Uyuni – La Paz
During the day we will take you to the airport for your flight to La Paz. On arrival in La Paz you will be picked up and taken to your hotel.
DAY 14 - La Paz – Cusco / Lima
We will return you to the airport so you can either fly to Lima or Cusco.
